Course Description
Product Design
In this course, we will develop our academic, creative and practical skills through design research, materials investigation and sustainability.
We will work through the design process using creative and analytical thinking to identify and address issues of today, through the testing of ideas, modelling and prototypes.
We will work with a stakeholder to trial and evaluate potential solutions, put ideas into practice by manufacturing projects and developing a working solution that addresses the brief and is fit for purpose.
This course can lead to Level 2 Product Design, Level 2 Design and Visual Communication, Level 2 Construction and/or Level 2 Engineering.
Recommended Prior Learning
An interest in design and manufacturing and successful completion of the Year 9 or 10 Hard Materials Design & Visual Communications course would be an advantage.

You will be assessed in this course through all or a selection of the standards listed below.
