NCEA Level 3 Dance
Course Description
In this course, we will cover choreography and performance skills.
Within choreography you will choreograph a dance that exposes the audience to personal ideas in both a group setting and a solo/duet. You will also learn to design your costume, lighting and stage set to best support your choreographic intention. We continue to build our performance skills in a more collaborative approach resulting in high quality performances for the end of year Dance Showcase.
This course caters to your strengths in style and genre and you must be able to work independently.
Level 3 Dance is a university-approved subject.
Recommended Prior Learning
You should have gained at least 14 credits in Level 2 Dance or complete a successful audition for the Teacher in Charge.

Off site activities approximately: $25
There may be an opportunity to extend learning with visits to live performances or attend specialist workshops in school.
