Senior Bridging Programme
Course Description
This is a two to three year programme that provides vocational and community skills for students who require some additional support with their learning
Senior Bridging Literacy
- Year 1: We will focus on achieving 5 Literacy credits towards the NZ Certificate in Skills for Living
- Year 2-3: We will focus on achieving the 10 Level 1 Literacy credits to gain NCEA Level 1 Literacy
- In all years: We will complete the remaining compulsory standards for the NZ Certificate in Skills for Living, plus participate in Literacy-based NCEA Level 1 Science standards
Senior Bridging Numeracy
- Year 1: We will focus on achieving 5 Numeracy credits towards the NZ Certificate in Skills for Living
- Year 2-3: We will focus on achieving the 10 Level 1 Numeracy credits to gain NCEA Level 1 Literacy
- In all years: We will complete the remaining compulsory standards for the NZ Certificate in Skills for Living, plus participate in Numeracy-based NCEA Level 1 Science standards
Senior Bridging Vocational
- Year 1: We will build a CV, learn about the process of applying for a job, attend a mock interview plus work on compulsory standards for the NZ Certificate in Skills for Work
- Year 2-3: Build an understanding of employment rights and responsibilities, work with the Careers Department on a Work Experience Placement, complete the compulsory standards for the NZ Certificate in Skills for Work
01 Hospitality
- This is a compulsory course as part of the NZ Certificate in Skills for Living but can be completed in either Year 1 or Year 2 of the programme.
Credits in this course:
NZ Certificate in Skills for Living - 55 Level 1 credits in approved standards
NZ Certificate in Skills for Working - 20 Level 1 credits in approved standards
