NCEA Level 3 Design and Visual Communication
Course Description
Design and Visual Communication
At Level 3, students will utilise and build on the skills and knowledge they have learnt in Year 11 and 12 to design and develop their own individual major project in the area of either spatial (architectural) design or product design.
During the year, students will extensively explore the design process to creatively and clearly record the design development process of their chosen main project in detail. They will have the opportunity to explore creative methods of idea generation, apply research, follow an in depth design process and explore their specialty knowledge. The outcome of this major project will be developed into an exhibition that will be designed, installed and presented to an audience.
