Course Description
Fashion and Design
This is an academic and practical based course where students will learn about technological processes associated with soft materials which will be completed over three projects.
The first is a skills-based project, aimed at building confidence in complex construction procedures.
The second project, students will develop a conceptual design based on a chosen theme.
In the third project, they will begin by learning complex pattern making techniques inspired by Tomoko Nakamichi to bring their final conceptual design from project 2 to life.
Students end the course with a Fashion Show held at the Technology Exhibition, an opportunity to exhibit their work at Te Uru Art Gallery and Lynn Mall.
Recommended Prior Learning
You will have gained at least 12 credits in 02 Fashion & Design.

Number of credits that can be used for overall endorsement: 22
Only students engaged in learning and achievement derived from Te Marautanga o Aotearoa are eligible to be awarded these subjects as part of the requirement for 14 credits in each of three subjects.
