Year 9 Mathematics
Course Description
Year 9 Mathematics is a core subject which creates the foundation for future learning in the subject. Students will focus on all three strands of the New Zealand Mathematics and Statistics Curriculum and will be aiming to progress to curriculum Levels 4 and 5.
Topics throughout the year focus on:
- Number
- Algebra
- Statistics and Probability
In a wider sense, Mathematics is vital for all trades and professions, and leads to pathways to engineering, sciences, medicine, computer sciences, finance, physics, surveying, seismic geology, meteorology, and aviation and more. This course aims to begin equipping students with the practical Mathematical skills to be successful in such career pathways.
