Course Description

Studying business enables students to appreciate the issues that challenge businesses and stakeholders. In a rapidly changing world, it is important that citizens are able to make informed and rational decisions about business matters.
Students will gain knowledge, skills and experience in areas such as how to plan, take to market, review, and then refine a business activity incorporating a community well-being focus, basing recommendations for the future on market feedback. Students will also explore how and why global businesses (greater than 20 employees) in New Zealand make operational decisions in response to internal and external factors. Students will learn how businesses contribute to the development of a culture of enterprise in New Zealand and supports our efforts to improve economic and community well-being.
Recommended Prior Learning
14 credits in Business Studies or approval at the discretion of the Teacher in Charge, based on your Level 2 results.
