Course Description
Media Studies
In Level 3 Media Studies we will critically examine the role of the media in shaping our lives and how this influences the lives and perceptions of others.
The course will also explore the influence of society on media.
Students will examine the documentary and TV sitcom genres. Students will also plan and produce a documentary. Additionally, students will learn about the influence of TV sitcoms on society.

Recommended Prior Learning
You will need at least 14 credits in Level 2 Media Studies, or approval at the discretion of the Head of Department/Teacher in Charge, based on your Level 2 results.

Number of credits that can be used for overall endorsement: 20
Only students engaged in learning and achievement derived from Te Marautanga o Aotearoa are eligible to be awarded these subjects as part of the requirement for 14 credits in each of three subjects.
