Year 9 Spanish

Course Description

The Year 9 course is all about starting to use Spanish in a fun and interactive way. Learn how to introduce yourself to Spanish-speakers and tell them about your family and hobbies. Experience Latino culture by doing some cooking in class and trying other food from Spanish-speaking countries. Discover amazing festivals and customs that may be very different from your own.

If you are thinking of going travelling later in life or working overseas, Spanish is the language that unlocks those opportunities in over 20 different countries in the world.

MAKING YOUR LANGUAGE CHOICES

  1. Year 9 students are required to choose FOUR half-year option courses, including a language other than English, and two back-up courses.
  2. Year 9 students need to rank their language course choices in order of preference.
  3. Green Bay High School will try to accommodate first preferences where possible, but due to timetable, resourcing and staff constraints other preferences may be necessary.

Pathway

Use the interpersonal skills that you will gain from speaking another language to develop your career as a doctor, counsellor, pilot, lawyer, diplomat, actor, teacher, journalist or technology designer.
