NCEA Level 3 Health Education
Course Description
This course explores the promotion of safety for self and society.
We will focus on health practices in NZ, and ethical issues facing NZ and the Pacific, including drug issues in our society.
We will develop an understanding of lifestyle, economic, social, cultural, political and environmental factors which influence health, and explore health strategies in the context of New Zealand and Pacific societies. This provides the platform for students to critically analyse national and international issues, and their impacts on society.
Students will also analyse strategies for developing and making positive change.
Contexts - Drug Education, Health Practices, Ethical Issues, Health in NZ and the Pacific.
Recommended Prior Learning
You will have at least 10 credits in Level 2 Health.
If you wish to take this subject and did not take Level 2 health you need to see the Head of Department.
