NCEA Level 2 Physical Education
Course Description
This course explores learning through movement and accepting challenges. The focus is on movement and its contribution to the development of self, others and society.
We will develop movement and interpersonal skills by demonstrating positive values and attitudes. Movement will also be used to promote and support the development of physical and social skills; foster critical thinking, and understand the significance of physical activity in our society.
Learning will take place through sports, games, leadership and adventure.
By engaging actively with the community we will have the opportunity to gain extensive experience, knowledge and confidence in leadership roles.
Key concepts of functional anatomy, biomechanics, skill acquisition, exercise physiology, participation and sports performance.
Recommended Prior Learning
Completed Level 1 Physical Education with 14 credits or approval from the Head of Department.

Clear-file 60 page and 1B5 exercise book
There is a Snow Camp involved with this course in Term Three for Safety in the Outdoors Achievement Standard.
