Year 9 Forensics

Course Description

You will investigate some modern applications of science. 

The course runs alongside the Year 9 Core Science course, and is in two parts: applying Science for Forensic purposes, and investigating how scientific techniques are used to further human health. 

You will gain experience of practical science, documenting results, and report writing.


Course Overview

Term 1
We process the Impression Evidence collected from the crime scene from which one assessment will be selected for grading. We then move into the Processing of the Biological Evidence.

Term 2
We continue to process the Biological Evidence and the complete the final phase of processing other evidence related to the Ransom Note. The case is finished off by setting up a mock court hearing. The rest of the course investigates the use of some of scientific knowledge in furthering human health.

Term 3
